We opened the first Deals Outlet on September 1, 2022, in the Peach Shops at Byron. The whole store was about 2,500 square feet, with roughly 1,500 of that you could actually walk around in. One room, some bins, a register.
The idea was not complicated: buy liquidation by the truckload, put it in bins, drop the price every day until it clears, and hand the discount to whoever shows up.
It works because it strips out most of what makes retail expensive. Nobody prices each item. Nobody merchandises a planogram. Nobody manages a markdown schedule. Fewer people spending less time touching each thing is exactly why the price on the floor can start at ten dollars and still make sense.
Then it grew faster than we planned.
Tallahassee, October 2024
Our first store outside Georgia, and still our only Florida location. It opened on October 18, 2024.
Gainesville, August 2025
Opened August 14, 2025, in the Washington Square shopping center, in the space the old Bargain Hunt used to occupy. The Gainesville Times came out for opening day and described the turnout as a “Black Friday-type of crowd.”
We had planned for a busy morning. It was not a busy morning. It was a line.
Warner Robins, early 2026
At 2191 Watson Blvd, in the former Big Lots — and it is a different animal from the first three.
What has not changed
The ladder. Ten dollars on restock day, down to a dollar, close for a day, start over. That was the plan in a 1,500-square-foot room in Byron and it is still the plan across four stores in two states.
The other thing that has not changed is that nobody — including us — knows what is coming off the next truck. That is the fun of it. It is a treasure hunt, and it resets every single week.
